Workshops at Senior Stage School differ from any other local performing arts school; they are not simply for learning lines and treading the boards, they are practical, hands on training workshops, geared towards entry into the industry or for further training at Drama School or University. Students develop skills and are challenged to constantly step out of their comfort zones, in order to add strings to their bows, making themselves more attractive to theatre and television and film companies, in a very competitive arts market. Senior Stage School trains at University level.

Senior Stage School students work continously in workshops towards the ACTAcademy UK Gold Medal Award. L.A.M.DA Examinations are also undertaken; local competitions and festivals are entered. ACTAcademy Showcases are given every year, showcasing class work and short pieces of dance, drama and song. Other performance opportunities arise throughout the year, including the ACTAcademy UK Professional Stage Performance, and charity projects in the local community. ACTAcademy Seniors may also be chosen to help in younger stages to gain valuable work experience.
